The "SOLIZAG" project aims to increase the use of renewable energy sources in institutions and properties owned or founded by the City of Zagreb and at the location of the Podruznica Čistoće property, which is part of Zagreb holding d.o.o. The increase in the use of renewable energy sources will be achieved through the implementation of eight pilot projects where solar power plants with a total capacity of 1.43 MW will be built for the purpose of self-supply. The implementation of eight pilot projects will increase the use of renewable energy sources by 1400 MWh and reduce CO2 emissions by 222 t/year. The applicant of the "SOLIZAG" project is the City of Zagreb, and the national partner is Zagrebački holding d.o.o. In addition to the national partner, a partner from the donor country (Norway), the Energy Farm International Foundation, also participates in the project. The Project implementation period is from July 11, 2022 to April 30, 2024.
On September 14, 2021, the Ministry of Regional Development and Funds of the European Union announced the Call for the submission of project proposals "Increasing the capacity for the production of solar energy" which is financed from the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2014-2021, as part of the "Energy and Climate Change" Program ".
On May 6, 2022, the Ministry of Regional Development and Funds of the European Union adopted the Decision on the financing of the Project (CLASS: 971-01/22-33/2, UR NO: 538-07-1-1/608-22-6) which acquired formal - legal assumptions for the acceptance of the Grant Agreement for the project "Solarization of Institutions of the City of Zagreb (SOLIZAG)", reference number 75, which is financed from the EEA financial mechanism for the period from 2014 to 2021 within the framework of the implementation of the Program "Energy and Climate changes" (hereinafter: contract). Along with the contract, the project partners also sign the Partnership Agreement, which is an integral part of the contract. The total value of the "SOLIZAG" Project amounts to EUR 1,169,421.33, of which the amount of grants amounts to EUR 994,008.13.
