Sporazumom je utvr\u0111en zajedni\u010dki cilj smanjenje dru\u0161tvenih i gospodarskih nejednakosti u Europi te ja\u010danje suradnje me\u0111u europskim zemljama. Do sada su financijski doprinosi usmjeravani kroz Financijski mehanizam (1994. \u2013 1998.) i Financijski instrument (1999. \u2013 2003.) te EGP financijski mehanizam i Norve\u0161ki financijski mehanizam (2004. \u2013 2009. i 2009.-2014.).<\/p>\n<p>Republika Hrvatska je ulaskom u Europsku uniju dobila mogu\u0107nost pristupanja Europskom gospodarskom prostoru (EGP). Pregovori oko pristupanja zavr\u0161eni su u travnju 2014. godine potpisivanjem Sporazuma o sudjelovanju u EGP-u \u010dime je Republici Hrvatskoj omogu\u0107eno kori\u0161tenje sredstava iz EGP financijskog mehanizma i Norve\u0161kog financijskog mehanizma 2009. \u2013 2014. u iznosu od 9,6 milijuna eura.<\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Za razdoblje od 2014. do 2021. godine dr\u017eave darovateljice odvojile su ukupno 2,8 milijardi eura za 15 europskih zemalja: 1,5 milijardi eura u okviru EGP financijskog mehanizma i 1,3 milijardi eura u okviru Norve\u0161kog financijskog mehanizma.
